There are six ranks players can reach Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Elite. A new progression system is introduced to World of Chel, which allows players to earn a rank in each of the four sub-modes separately. The multiplayer-based World of Chel umbrella mode includes four separate modes that were present in NHL 20 Ones, a three-way free-for-all mode Threes Eliminator, an arcade-style 3v3 mode Drop-ins, 3v3 or 6v6 matches composed of different individual players and Clubs 3v3 or 6v6 matches between clubs of players.
The Be a Pro central hub has also been updated to match the revamped mode, allowing for the player to access all important aspects of their hockey player in one screen. The dialogue options the player selects affects their likability among teammates, management, and their brand. Players are able to select their dialogue when speaking to their coach or the hockey press in media scrums.
Players create their custom hockey player and choose to begin their career as a prospect in either the Canadian Hockey League or European hockey leagues, such as the Swedish Hockey League or Deutsche Eishockey Liga, or choose to go undrafted and sign to a team of their choice as a free agent in the National Hockey League. I enjoyed playing it in 1920x1080 on my 47" TV.The career mode for NHL 21, known as "Be a Pro", has been expanded to be more interactive and cinematic, similar to other franchises such as Madden NFL and NBA 2K. In any case, it's not horribly distracting stretched (just pretend all the players just got back from the buffet). The game may still stretch after that, though, so I don't know. Perhaps you could start by just taking Overhead or something and cutting the top and bottom off a bit.
I know a number of you have gotten into the camera settings and know how to mess with them. It's kind of a shot in the dark, but worth a try I suppose. I have no idea how to get the game to use the proper FOV setting, but I was thinking that perhaps using a custom wide angle camera setting might solve the problem. Which is where I was hoping you guys might be able to help out. I've tried 1280x7x1080 and both seem to be supported fine, with one little problem. Below is a list of common resolutions and their respective hexadecimal codes. What you need to do is change them to the resolution you'd like to use instead. In the image below I've highlighted the important strings.Ĩ0 02 represents 640 and e0 01 represents 480. This should bring you to the offset 00006c10. Then you need to Ctrl+F and search for the following hex string (not text string).Ĩb 54 24 04 83 fa 04 b8 80 02 00 00 b9 e0 01 00 What you need to do is run your hex editor and load the nhl2004.exe file in it. Be.He圎ditor and XVI32 are both good, free programs. I was able to get NHL 2004 running in widescreen resolutions last night so I thought I'd post this here in case any of you are interested in trying it out.Ī hex editor is required to do this quick fix. Widescreen is a default option since NHL Launcher 1.45 Attention: This thread contains old information.
